95' Breeze
philosophies include:
For the Spring & Fall,
We will practice once during the week (unless preparing for
Nationals) and expect ALL kids to work on their own AND
take lessons (Hitting or Pitching).
We will practice in
Huntington Beach or Fountain Valley on the
weeknight/weekends.
We will play on Saturdays
and/or Sundays and will one take weekend off a month.
We will take 2-3 weeks off
in August (after nationals) and at Christmas.
We do not cut players, carry 14-15 girls on the team
depending on each individual circumstance (this year we had
14 all Spring)
Will have one on one meetings with players 2-3 times a year
to discuss their progression and roles. There should be no
question were you stand on the team.
Will bat ALL players in
every friendly we play and players will play defense
through the game, thus allowing everyone to play.
This will also be true for pool play games in tournaments
(unless the rules say otherwise).
We will play the best players during tournament bracket
times to give the team the best chance to win.
During Nationals Tournaments, we will play the best players
at the appropriate positions and playing time will not be
equal.
Pitchers will have one on one time during practices with
coaches, will get pitching time during all friendlies (game
and bullpens) and in pool games.
The best pitchers will pitch at tournament time.
Everyone must earn their
positions
For the Fall, we plan to
play as many 16U games as possible, play in 14U and 16U
tournaments during Sept-Feb, and try to qualify as 14U in
ASA Nationals for 2010 in June.
Fall 2010, we move to 16's for recruiting purposes. Every
effort will be given to play in the right showcases and get
the athlete in front of college coaches.
The Breeze believe in family first, school, and lastly
softball.
Our parents and coaches
will be at a higher standard during games and team events.
We do have players that
play multiple sports and we appreciate that and will work
with both schedules.
In 14U, our goals as a coaching staff are to have fun, make
sure every player gets better, and communicate effectively
to make all players enjoy the sport of softball.
In 16U, recruiting and getting players scholarships will be
our #1 concern.
We have maintained a competitive team every year since we
started because of our philosophies, our players
progression and willingness to improve.
